Half-Life Deathmatch: Source is a Source engine port of the multiplayer portion of Half-Life included with Half-Life: Source. It was first announced in June 2005 to be released 'In the coming weeks',[2] but was eventually delayed and only became available on May 1, 2006.[1] Along with Half-Life 2: Deathmatch, it was bundled with Half-Life 2: Episode One for some time after its release.[3]
As a port, the game possesses several differences with the original multiplayer component of Half-Life, such as the .357 Magnum lacking the zoom feature. Many of the maps also feature changes to existing areas for balancing and extra details. The game is also oddly missing the map Gasworks.
